  • Initial Product Evaluation
    This stage of the process determines the suitability of any specific product to meet a policy, regulatory, privacy or security objective. The compatibility of a product technology with the existing, or future, IT infrastructure may be evaluated; or, several products may be evaluated, in context, for suitability, performance, manageability or scalability. Properly executed, this step is an insurance policy to avoid “dead ends” due to technology or policy incompatibilities, performance or management issues or just plain failure to meet basic expectations.
  • Pre-installation Implementation/Project Planning
    Planning is the cornerstone of a successful deployment. In this step, WhiteHat lays down the processes and milestones necessary to meet deployment goals, including base requirements such as scheduling, provisioning, responsibility matrices, back-out plans, change management inputs and stakeholder sign-offs. This is a documentation exercise that is demanded by industry best practices.
  • Installation/Configuration
    Having set in place the Project plan, after evaluation, selection and a pre-installation survey, the actual business of a product installation and configuration can be approached. Executive approval, stakeholder notice, help desk functions and change management requirements have been satisfied. The implementation is effected in accordance with a project plan.
  • Project Documentation/Reporting
    Due diligence requires the reporting of new security mechanisms to a variety of levels within the corporation. WhiteHat has developed a methodology to create new deployment notices, on behalf of our client IT departments, to:
    • The Executive, to meet regulatory requirements,
    • IT management staff, to log and document the processes that have occurred,
    • Front line IT services personnel, like the help desk, to provide a client support knowledgebase, and,
    • Operations staff, to satisfy the requirements for change management
  • Ongoing Product Support
    WhiteHat provides ongoing product maintenance/upgrade and support services after the deployment of a security solution. The long term goal of any security deployment exercise is to maintain the value and functionality of that solution for the lifetime of the solution.
